Why is hydration important?
A survey by PetSafe® found that more than 70% of pet owners wouldn’t know how to tell if their pet was dehydrated.
Our pets need 1 ounce of water per pound of body weight. Most pets don’t get enough water, especially during extreme temperatures. Just like people, 80% of a dog’s body is water. Water provides the means for most of the process and chemical reactions that keep the body working. Water helps the body filter waste, regulate body temperature, digest food and circulate blood. Dehydration can cause serious health problems including kidney and heart damage even resulting in death.
